Apprentice shares journey of being a donor

Apprentice Arborist, Issac Fisher, has been on the donor register for more than three years. As only 30% of patients are able to find a compatible donor within their family, a friend ran a campaign encouraging family and friends to register to be a donor. Issac volunteered and registered to be a donor on the DKMS website, but at that time, a match was found and he wasn’t needed.

Late in 2022, as he was still on the donor register, Issac was contacted to see if he was still willing to be a donor. In January 2023, he underwent surgery to save a teenage girl’s life by donating bone marrow.
I am extremely thankful to Avove and my team for allowing me to take the time off work without any worry or stress. This has allowed me to be able to make a difference in someone else’s life an
